Questions about club administration

With the additional measures and costs, will the costs be based on weeks and leagues and people's participation?

The Board decided to have the same fees as last year, except for the increase by Curling Québec.

Will there be a refund for the last two months of 2019-2020?

No. It must be said that the real loss of regular business in large part was only the last two weeks of March.

Will the cleaning disinfectant for the stones be provided?

Yes.

How the players will be able to move around the club?

Players will be introduced to the ice respecting the order of the ice, and preventing players from walking past a game in progress.

Players will enter the club through the main building entrance and exit the club through the door near the bar.

Players will enter the ice from the right and exit through the other door which will be relocated.

Access to the cloakroom will be via the staircase near the front door and exit from the cloakroom will be via the staircase near the mirrors. This with or without the curling shoes.

The movement in the club requires the wearing of the mask

If a player leaves the ice to go to the bathroom, he will have to put on his mask

Will the club do a survey to find out how many members will return?

The club have since asked players looking for team and teams looking for play for the ladder to communicate to the Mach responsible.  In addition, teams already constituted can be communicated now. Information can be sent by email to [email protected]

Is there a program for Curling 101?

Yes. The dates are now on the club's website, under https://www.stlambertcurling.com/en/pages/141

How will physical distancing be respected inside the club? For example, with the table of 8 people?

The people seated at the tables will be limited to 4

The bartender will serve at the tables

Spectators during the games will be limited to people related to the players who will be on the ice, spouse, parents, etc.

What about registrations?

Registration will start in mid-September. There will be no registration day.

Registration will be done through the club's website. There will be no first come first registered rule. Nicole: If he had to have too many entries in a league, which would be a great problem, we will resolve that in committee in order to have fair solutions.

A declaration of acceptance of the risks of contracting COVID will have to be signed online by all members. A member who has not signed will be refused access to the club.

Will we be able to pay by Interac?

Yes, but at the club only.

Marie-Hélène: we cannot accept by Interac online or by PayPal: the bank does not allow it.

What about the kitchen?

The kitchen will always be closed and accessible only to the bartender.

This includes the coffee machine which will be closed.

There will be no possibility of making snacks to share after (or before) the games.

In addition, the Saturday sandwich and soup service will not be permitted.

What about the school program?

There are discussions with the different schools and decisions will be taken with the school officials, in accordance with the club and schol standards. They are already their own issues, including transport and their own organization.

Will Cribbage be suspended?

We haven't discussed it yet, but their small table and the sharing of card games make it difficult.

What about the inter-club leagues?

The Ladies Curling Association canceled everything. We are in discussions with the other clubs and the ARCM.

What if a player tests positive for Covid-19?

This person must inform the club as soon as possible. The club will notify members present with the infected person to take testing, hence the importance of the attendance record.

The return to play time frame will be set based on direction from health authorities and the Outbreak Review Committee.

Information on players and opponents on this team will be taken by the Outbreak Review Committee as long as they attend upcoming games and attend clubs.

What about the ventilation?

The improvements that could be made would be difficult.

Jean-Pierre: We have a building in two zones: if we change one, we modify the other. With the nature of our ventilation, we will not be able to have the same level as in a hospital. We can change filters more frequently, but we cannot filter everything.

Do you have budget scenarios given our financial reserves?

Marie-Hélène made various scenarios ranging from bad to good situation. We don't want to squander our reserves. We will seek the approval of members at a special general meeting for a loan of $ 40,000 to obtain a government loan.

Questions about the practice of SPORT

How can we ensure physical distancing during sweeping?

The primary recommendation is to designate one sweeper for each throw; this team member will be the only person allowed to sweep the active rock and any other stone affected by the play. Members of the opposing team are not permitted to sweep any rock crossing the hog line, whether it is their own or the adversary’s.

It will be only one sweeper per stone, the team will have to designate the sweeper by positioning themselves in the right place before throwing the stone. The team can alternate the sweeper as it sees fit.

It will be a single sweeper per stone thrown. The captain will not be able to sweep an opposing stone.

You should avoid replacing the stones at the end of a line with your hands, use the broom instead.

If the players can't be at the back, where should they stand?

The players will be on the ice: markers will indicate where they will stand.

What about match start times, can they not be changed?

We are trying to avoid 24 people who show up at the three ice cream parlors from meeting at the same time, the games will start with a 15-minute delay to avoid having too many players waiting in front of the gate.

What about the length of the game?

Games will be limited to two hours.

Will the match manager be available to appease any situation and non-compliance with rules?

This is a permanent situation and not a COVID situation. We are counting on members to meet the 2-hour dead stop limit in the same way they did for the current 1 hour 55 minutes after start time rule.

What will the disciplinary measures be for those who will not clean up after the games?

This is evolving, the captains will discuss.

Denis: A person responsible for COVID-19 will be present for the first games.

Why not put timers?

Good idea, we will discuss it.
